Apparently, this is not for the first time when Khan fell victim of a death hoax. According to Daily Bhaskar, back in 2014 when Shah Rukh Khan was shooting for Happy New Year, fake news claimed that the superstar escaped an eight kilograms door on the movie’s set, while he was filming for a romantic song. After the reports of the accident surfaced online, few took the opportunity to spread the rumors about his death. The actor’s alleged demise gained momentum after someone created a “R.I.P. Shah Rukh Khan” page on Facebook.
That being said, just few hours later after the fake news of his death surfaced online, Khan nearly did meet his demise. According to Mumbai Mirror, while shooting for Rai’s upcoming film in Mumbai, a large portion of the ceiling collapsed on the film’s set. Khan was lucky enough not to be in danger’s path and escaped unscathed, but the remaining two crew members met with serious bumps and bruises.
“A prop ladder fell on the makeshift ceiling. The injured crew members were discharged immediately since the injuries were minor. Everybody heaved a sigh of relief that SRK was seated on another side of the set and was unharmed.”
In the upcoming Rai’s film, Shah Rukh Khan will be seen playing the role of a dwarf. The unnamed film will also feature Bollywood actresses Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif in the lead roles. According to Mumbai Mirror, neither of the actress was on the film’s set when the incident happened. It further state that the director and the producers of the film has decided to stall the shoot for two days and will resume later this week.
During his acting career, Shah Rukh Khan has starred in more than 80 feature films. The 51-year-old Indian actor has been variously called “The King of Bollywood,” and “King Khan” owing to his frequent status as India’s biggest movie star. According to Forbes, Shah Rukh Khan with a total earning of $33 million, is one of the world’s highest-paid actors.
In professional endeavors, Shah Rukh Khan fans will be delighted to know that he will be making a cameo in Salman Khan’s upcoming film Tubelight. Apart from Anand L. Rai’s untitled film and Tubelight, Shah Rukh will be next seen in Imtiaz Ali’s The Ring.
